Cheesy Sausage Pasta

Today we are going to prepare a macaroni with sausage and cheese, a super easy recipe that is delicious. Those who follow my recipes know that I always have sausages at home and I try to make original recipes with them, I like to try quick things that do not involve investing a lot of time in the kitchen but that result in a decent dish for lunchtime.

Well, that's how this dish was born, which is nothing more than macaroni and cheese with pepper and sautéed sausages also with pepper, great!

This pasta with sausage and cheese recipe can be modified to your liking using the type of pasta and sausage you like best, there is no way this combination will look bad so cheer up and let's get to work.

Ingredients to make Pasta with sausages and cheese:

  • 2 cooked sausages
  • 80 grams of Macaroni
  • ½ tablespoon of butter
  • 40 grams of Parmesan cheese
  • 2 pinches of freshly ground Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of water used to cook the pasta

How to make Pasta with sausage and cheese:

 Step 1

Once we have all the ingredients in the kitchen, at hand, the first thing we will do is cut the sausages into slices and sauté them in the pan with a pinch of pepper until golden brown. Set aside.

I have used Frankfurt type sausages of the big ones, but you can use any type, the ideal is that they are cooked sausages that are those that we always have at home and that we can obtain easily.

 

 Step 2

On the other hand we cook the pasta in the traditional way, with boiling water and a pinch of salt. The cooking time is usually about 5-7 minutes, but this changes depending on the type of pasta, so to make sure it is al dente, always check the manufacturer's instructions on the package.

My idea was always to make macaroni with Frankfurt sausage but if you want to use another type of short pasta you can.


 Step 3

When the pasta is ready, drain, transfer to a bowl and mix with the butter, adding a good pinch of freshly ground pepper and a little of the cooking broth.

 

 Step 4

Then add the Parmesan cheese, which should be powdered, and mix well until a slightly liquid paste is formed. If we see that it is too thick we can add a little more cooking water.

The idea is to form a cheese and pepper sauce like the one in the caccio e pepe pasta recipe.

 

 Step 5

Finally add the sausages and stir again. Taste for seasoning and add more cheese or pepper to taste to make the pasta with sausages perfect!

 

 Step 6

As you can see, this pasta dish with sausages and cheese doesn't take more than 10 minutes to be ready and the truth is that it is spectacular! The secret touch of this recipe is undoubtedly the pepper, but you can also add a little mustard if you don't like pepper.
